I don't know which came first, but suspect it was the "Type a" and the "Thunderbird" marking was removed for copyright reasons 

1. Made in Thailand - With "No 1033" and "Thunderbird" moulded

Thailand Cars have ridges across Grill
China Cars have flat Front Grill
Interior Colors can be misleading due to Green tinge to windscreen 

Models like this but with the Rear Bumper as part of the Body casting
( rather than the Plastic base ) are made by Zylmex
